DuPage Mighty Con

We had a blast at the DuPage show, thanks for stopping out. The big talk was over WestWorld, who would have thought that sci-fi westerns would be as big as they are right now? Special thanks to Steven W for stopping out and picking up some original pages. Keep in mind that Jason Parada, the author of issues 7-9 really wanted that page with Jameson Hunter tearing NPRS in half so if you see him at one of the cons Steven, punch him hard and straight in the nose then run like hell.

Damn, we have been busy! A few things have happened in the last couple of weeks so here’s a quick rundown.

Hamiliton Wood Type and Printing Museum

I got to take another trip up north and spend the day with Jim Moran, curator of the epic Hamilton Wood Type Museum. We had a small group of faculty and students and spent all day Saturday on the press. As always it was great time and you will never guess what I printed

which leads me to–

Custom Posters

As a way to showcase our book and NPRS we are going to be rendering on these 12×18 a unique image of your choice. Each typeset is a custom print and we only have 20 made so I am not sure how long they are going to last. The idea here is to draw an image in the negative space of the customers choice so put on your thinking hats and let us know who your favorite character is. Hell, I would even draw any fan fiction from the 80’s if you want. Each image is printed on heavy weight acid free archival paper and is signed and numbered. $50 while they last-

Yep, I talked to my buddy who has a press and we are going to do a single color run at the end of the year. If you know you want one, let me know and I can pre-order a few more of your size. I’ll update on the look of the shirt in a few weeks.

Ugh- Swing and a miss, but I ordered more silicone so we will try another pour in 3-4 weeks

Title Sequence

So this is getting closer but it still needs another few hours. I will post when it’s finished but so far, it’s looking pretty good.

Update on things

Sorry, we have been dragging our feet on updates but not on working on the book. Here is a quick look at the first copy that came from KaBlam. We wanted to see a color copy to check against our monitors. The colors look fantastic! We couldn’t be happier.

And since we had some extra time over the weekend, we got the script finished for issue 8, did the thumbnails and are ready to start drawing on full panels. We will keep you in the loop.
