my my, how the tides are turning

Last C2E2 we were approached to participate in next years International Steampunk Symposium. It sounds like a ton of fun but I realized that without the comic, we really don’t have much inventory in the way of Steampunk (weird I know). So here is to gearing up (pun intended) and stocking the poster pile full of gadgetry and pageantry.

And yes, this will be fodder for future comics. Once we get out of our horror arc and into the mystery arc, our titular hero will be heading to San Finnesario to see how the cultured live.

As we gear up for the issue 11 which will close out the second arc of our epic, we have been looking ahead to the next arc and it’s cast of miscreants and ne’er-do-wells. Not sure on what side this sheriff is going to ultimately land.

Starting to lose track, makes sense considering NPRS is losing his mind.

Got to hang out with Danny last night, what a great time. Over whiskey and Winston’s we hashed out the skeleton script for issue 11 – Season of the Witch. That issue will close out the second arc. In the meantime, looks like more rough waters for those darn Cowboyz

So Dan is crushing this next issue, no reason to believe this wont be done by Feb though it has been a minute since I heard from the newly graduated Tim. Here is page 16. I get to hang out with Dan this weekend which is a really big deal since we live so far away now. We will hopefully hash out the script and possibly thumbnails for issue 11 witch (pun intended) will put us at the end of this arc. A second trade will quickly follow.

On some other news, the compiled first and second issue printed and shipped today. I did this because we still have a few number 4’s around and some people do not want the full trade.

So Moo has this special where you can order multiple images for business cards, meaning you don’t have to use the same image over and over. If they can do front and back I thought it might be cool to do a series of trading cards and have the backs be pieces to a large image kind of like the old Garbage Pail Kids cards did. If I did I may use this as the final image that is created.

If I promise every Friday then come hell or high water it will be every Friday. Switching gears a little on this end, here is a page from issue 10. Issue 10? That’s right, I actually started this one last year and have very slowly been picking away at it. If you’ll remember, Dan and Tim are working together on issue 9 while I was on sabbatical working on my children’s book, which if I hit all of my milestones should be pretty close to finished by the end of August. (fingers crossed) To break up the monotony of the illustrations I keep coming back to this issue which if everything goes right, should be done around the same time as issue 9. That means by the show season next year we could have two new issues and after we wrap issue 11 which Dan and I are starting to script this weekend, we will have our second graphic novel. Pretty exciting.
